Pepita is an excellent tutor. She is truly dedicated to the task, and is also astute in assessing and then adjusting to the current situation as well as quite complex learning needs. She not only has helped my son but she has also helped me understand how I can help him. Both my son and I appreciate the quality of the sessions. You feel as if, with Pepita, there is never a wasted moment!

Another example of an Experienced Tutor
Julia is an enthusiastic and friendly teacher, and professional tutor of Psychology.
I am passionate about education and committed to finding innovative ways to make tricky subject material accessible. Prior to becoming a tutor, I read Psychology & Philosophy at Harris Manchester College, Oxford. I have extensive teaching experience providing one-to-one and small group tuition and educational consultancy in the private sector for many years. I have held positions at a number of independent schools, including subject teacher, Head of Department, and latterly as a Principal. I’ve also worked as an examiner for national examination boards. I hold a TESOL certificate from Trinity College London, am qualified with the British Psychological Society to administer psychometric assessments, trained in careers guidance with the Morrisby organisation, and a qualified yoga instructor. I try to include aspects of mindfulness and stress reduction techniques in my teaching, am focused on building confidence and encouraging independent learning. Most of all, I aim to foster intellectual curiosity in my tutees, and to show them that learning can and should be rewarding, and even fun!
Cambridge and Oxford Graduate Tutors
Tutors with degrees from the universities of Cambridge and Oxford — sometimes Masters or PhD/DPhil candidates — with proven track-records of academic success. From £60 per hour.
Cambridge and Oxford Undergraduate Tutors
Academically outstanding, and selected for their natural teaching ability, they are excellent role models and mentors. Feedback from pupils and parents is always exceptional. From around £50 per hour.
Example of an Undergraduate Tutor
Alexandra is studying Psychological and Behavioural Science at the University of Cambridge.
This inter-disciplinary subject means I am heavily involved in the scientific community, whilst having to maintain high literary standards. I have an abundance of one-to-one tutoring experience, both online and in person. I have also worked as a Residential Leader and academic teacher at a Summer School in Cambridge during the summer of 2019, which involved teaching a class of 17 international students. Additionally, I am experienced in helping individuals to write their personal statements for university and internship applications, as well as preparing individuals for Cambridge entrance exams and interviews. I have done so with students from the UK, Hong Kong and France. During my first year at Cambridge, I studied Education and development (25% of my first year). This has helped to shape the way I plan and approach tuition, allowing maximum effectiveness. I am familiar with the stress and hard work associated with exams, and can help to resolve students’ concerns and prepare to succeed, using strategies that I have been taught and developed throughout my own education and extensive tutoring experience.
Alongside my studies, I am a keen athlete, and have competed for both my university and my county on many occasions! My extra-curricular commitments have led me to develop effective learning and revision strategies, allowing me to continue pursuing my non-academic interests whilst maintaining academic rigour, which I hope to pass on.
Another example of an Undergraduate Tutor
Tara is studying Psychological and Behavioural Sciences at St John’s College, Cambridge. She is an experienced tutor.
I am able to achieve an excellent rapport with young people by ensuring I am a friendly, approachable and flexible figure who can support them fully in their academics and help them reach their individual potential. Balancing my commitments as a tutor/coach alongside my own academics and hobbies means I have developed extremely good organisational skills, including excellent time management and efficient online communication. I am eager to share these skills in my capacity as a role model and mentor, which I see as an essential part of being an effective tutor.
